In Step

blues blues rock guitar instrumental stevie ray vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan's mellowest cut of his album "In Step" - He used to perform this song Riviera Paradise as his last encore of the evening, and he would actually turn down his amplifier. He enjoyed leaving the crowd with a peaceful mellow feeling; however, his guitar playing on this song is actually very intense - watch a video rendition for the full effect - there is some Stevie Ray Vaughan only style whammy bar, vibrato harmonics that may never be duplicated. This is a great slow dance song, but is also one for the air guitarists!;):) Read more on Last.fm.

Formed in 1979 with drummer Chris Layton and bassist Jackie Newhouse, Stevie Ray Vaughan fronted the band which he named Double Trouble. The band was joined in 1981 by bass player Tommy Shannon & 1985 by keyboardist Reese Wynans. Stevie Ray Vaughan tragically died on August 27, 1990 in a helicopter accident, having taken the seat that his brother Jimmie Vaughan or some have reported Eric Clapton would have been sitting in. He had a wide range of influences, most notably Lonnie Mack, Albert King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton & Jimi Hendrix. Only a handful of blues guitarists have had such an impact on the blues genre. Read more on Last.fm.
